How To Manage Your ... As A Student?

Use this technique. I guarantee it will work out!

If you are a student, it does not matter if you’re still in high school, college, or a part-time student, I hope this email finds you.

I heard many people out there saying that they are stressed with their work until in the end, they procrastinate.

Why? Is it because the work is too hard for you?

No. I don’t think so. Even scientists can perform complex experiments in the laboratory.

But you…you are in your room, sitting and opening the book to finish the task.

As you encounter that one question, you started to procrastinate without even trying.

You’re not making any progress, but instead lying on the bed, continue to scroll.

Do you wish that you could solve the problem by yourself?

No? Yes? It’s your opinion. Some can and some cannot.

I will tell you the secret to become a successful person not only by getting all A’s…

…but to become successful at managing these three things:

· Time

· Stress

· Focus

I realized that these three affect my study as a college student (and I will say that you also have more than this).

Let’s make it short and understandable: If you are good at handling stress, the more focus you can have and your work can be done quickly.

I give you a simple task:

Remember an assignment the lecturer gave to you, for example, Calculus. You know you don’t like it (I guess it’s a fact) but you still want to finish it before the due date.

Use this method; Stress, Time, and Focus (S.T.F)

· Stress – Calculus is hard. I understand. I once used this technique where if you encountered a hard question, leave it first and proceed to the question you can do.

With this technique, you can avoid putting too much pressure on that hard task. You don’t want to be stuck on the same task as it will waste your time.

This not only applies to Calculus or Mathematics in high school, you can use this in any subject or course when needed.

You can also seek your lecturer’s or teacher’s help to guide you. This will decrease your stress level as you need a better understanding from your mentors.

· Time – You can use the Pomodoro Technique. Set 25 minutes of deep work with different sessions and take a 5-minute break. If you wish to do longer work, consider taking a long break around 15-30 minutes.

Having a short break after a task is essential for us. We are not robots, working 24/7.

As for me, I did my 2 hours of deep work with different sessions. For example, on Saturday morning I will complete the first task for 2 hours, take a break, and proceed with the second task in the evening for 2 hours.

This one works well for me. You must understand that you have time and learn to say ‘No’. It is better to do it earlier than doing it at the last minute.

· Focus – Put away all of the distractions. Turn on airplane mode or silent your phone before doing any task.

I’ve read this one sentence from the book ‘Hyperfocus’, where Chris Bailey mentioned that we have a few minutes to focus on work before we distract ourselves with something else.

This is true. Have you ever thought about why you keep procrastinating? As I mentioned just now when you are pressured too much on a task, your mind gets distracted. This is why you should start with a light task before you proceed with hard task.

If you cannot focus, you can put your smartphone in a different room and leave it there until you finish your task. You can also listen to ambience songs playlist to increase your productivity.

These are the main three things I used to be productive as a student.

A kind reminder, take a good rest and do whatever you want. You are not a robot.

I will always be rooting for you, not only in being a successful person in education but also in your mindset, management, and development.

Let’s fight together for the best version of ourselves.
